In 1978 Macao issued a 500 gold Patacas coin in Proof quality
to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Grand Prix (1954 - 1978).
The original dies had adverts on the car, SHELL, SEIKO,
LUSO BANKING & ROHMANS of PALL MALL.
This die should not have had adverts !!
550 of the "advert" car coins were produced -
How many were recalled and destroyed is unknown.
This coin is now very scarce and error coins
such as this are very sought after.
New dies were made immediately - without the adverts.
5,500 were eventually made of the "No advert" car.

"With & With-out adverts"
