We have recently purchased a "parcel" of 1970 - 1977 Proof Sets which we are offering at a special price! ************************************** The coins in several of the sets, especially the copper ones are starting to tone. A possible cause is that the glue the Royal Mint used in these early sets are having this adverse effect on the coins locked in this sealed unit !? If this is the case will ALL the sets be effected eventually ??? ************************************** 1970 sets This was the first proof set produced for collectors - after the Coronation set of 1953.
It was also the last proof set issued in Sterling £.s.d before the currency was changed to our present day - decimal 'type' coinage!
Lastly, it is unique in that NONE of the Sterling coins dated 1970 were ever issued for circulation.
Set - Catalogue price: £20.00 Price of a 'Well known' Coin dealer £29.95 ! ☺☺☺ Our price ! ☺☺☺
