Penny 1855 - various spacings of 5's (Narrow to wide)

CT 1855 A  narrow date (Orn. trident)            CT 1855 B  narrow date (Plain trident)

CT 1855 Ba  middle date (Plain trident)          CT 1855 Bb  wider date (Plain trident)

The 'narrow' is normal for use with the Ornamental trident reverse.

The 'narrow' width on the Plain trident appears to be the last 5 over 5 (a bit shows on right).

The 'middle' width with the plain trident - the last 5 is centrally between 2 teeth.

The 'wider' width with the Plain trident - the last 5 is centrally over a tooth.

So far fewer CT 1855 B with 5 over 5 (to the side) have been found.

All the others appear to be equally available.

The Plain trident 'middle' width has been listed as 'Ba's'

The Plain trident 'wider' width has been listed as 'Bb's'
