1673 Crown - Charles II - 3rd bust   Edge: VICESIMO QVINTO

Edge: Very strange - 3 small circular (pin-head size

indents) that appear to have been done at the

time. Carefully positioned so as not to obstruct

or deface any of the edge lettering. Carefully

done between the I & C of VICESIMO, inside

                               the C and between the C & E !!??

About 1 mm deep, perfectly round and toned

as per the rest of the edge !  Strange.

I cannot think of any good reason for this occurrence.

Nor have I heard of this occurring on any other coin.

If anyone can advise as to why this happened I would be

pleased to find out.

Grade:  Obv. Fair - Fine.  Rev. Fine (Dark tone around legend)
