Eritrea
The State of Eritrea, a former Ethiopian
province, fronts onto the Red Sea.
It was an Italian province from 1889 until
1936 when it became part of Italian East
Africa.
Under British administration in 1941 to 1952.
Then the U.N. designated
it an autonomous unit within Ethiopia
and Eritrea.
Several other changes occurred until in 1993 when it was proclaimed as an independent Republic of Eritrea.
