1869 French 5 Francs converted
into a small manicure set
with knife, nail file & scissors
This 1869 Napoleon French 5 Francs coin was transformed into a manicure set. It was handcrafted in France by Eloi Depose. It is well made as the coin has been modified and a small manicure set has been hidden away inside. Retrievable from the edge.
The coin measures 37 mm in diameter and is 4 mm thick. It is marked with a hand-stamp “Depose” on the nail file and, “Eloi France” on the knife. There are a couple of French hallmarks, one on the obverse, below the bust and one on the reverse, at the top (12 o'clock). Weighs 29.3 grams. The 3 piece set are in excellent condition and the tiny scissors has the original spring that is sometimes missing !
