Italian Somaliland
A former Italian colony on the East coast of Africa. Stretching from Ras Asir (Kenya) south.
Capital:- Mogadishu.
In 1885 Italy obtained commercial rights within the area from the Sultan of Zanzibar.
1 July 1960 was united with British Somaliland and became the Somali Democratic Republic.
The following coins were issued by the Italian government from 1909 to 1925.
