1680 Maundy 3d - Reading OAROLVS instead of CAROLVS (We have THREE examples to prove that it is not just a one off). I believe that it a repair to the 'C' and the die has been rotated sideways by 90 degree (similar to the G over sideways G on the 1874 H farthing). On both examples the top part of the A is blocked up !
I consider that the C is NOT over a 0 because if you look at the lettering the 0 is more oval than round.
We also have an example of the mouth of the C in CAROLVS fully open.
