VIII Star - (Known for 1844 ONLY !)

Spink in their catalogue list this edge for 1845 but I have never seen an example.

"English Silver Coinage" & "British Silver Coins" - neither publications list as having seen this edge for 1845 !

Do you have an example of an 1845 with VIII star - or know of an example exists ?!

VIII Cinquefoils - 5 leaves. (Known for both 1844 and 1845)

Some people think this is a 5 pointed star - NO it is known as "Cinquefoils".

From the French: Cinque meaning FIVE & foils or (feuilles) meaning leaves.

VIII 5-spoke-wheel - (Found for 1844 - New discovery Oct. 2025 - 1 only)

Sorry - I can't think of another way to describe the symbol !

Centre wheel hub with 5 thin spokes (NO outer tread, tyre or rim) !  Slightly thicker I I I's

Compare with the 'Cinquefoil' symbol, example, above.

It is possible that like the 'Star' symbol this symbol was only used in 1844 as the 'cinquefoils'

symbol was used in 1844 & 1845. As it has taken this long to notice it is probably quite scarce.
