4d - EF? Date Very clear 6 over 8 (struck in 1678 but the 8 was not punched hard enough !)
3d - VF+-EF?
2d - EF? Several fine 'haymarking' lines on both side'
Date The 8 appears to have been overstruck on multiple dates ??
8 over 3 (the curved top and tail of the 3 showing !?)
8 over 6 (the upward tail of the 6 showing in the top circular part of the 8 !?)
8 over 7 (the back of the top bar of the 7 shows to the right of the top
circular part of the 8 and the down bar follows the downward part
and is clearly seen in the lower circular part of the 8 !?)
1d - EF? Struck on a slightly spread flan (without a collar !?) A slightly rusty die ?
A nicely matched set EF? Brightish Very Scarce.
* The over-strike of the 8 of the twopence on possibly so many other dates is
fascinating and very unusual.
