Sixpences 1911 - 2 obverse & 2 reverse types
1911 Sixpences have two obverse & 2 reverse dies. 1911 - Obverse 1, can be identified by the following: I of DEI points to a gap between two border teeth I of BRITT points directly to a tooth in the border teeth I of GEORGIVS points to a gap between two border teeth The back of King George's neck has a very slight 'hollow'. 1911 - Obverse 2, can be identified by the following: I of DEI points directly to a tooth in the border teeth I of BRITT points to a gap between two border teeth I of GEORGIVS points directly to a tooth in the border teeth The back of King George's neck is 'rounded'. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1911 - Reverse A, can be identified by the following: The upright leg of the F of DEF points to a border tooth The Lion's head is slimmer, narrower and lightly longer 1911 - Reverse B, can be identified by the following: The upright leg of the F of DEF points to a gap between two border teeth The Lion's head is slightly wider but slightly shorter Known combinations of the above: SX 1911 A - 1 + A - very rare. SX 1911 B - 1 + B - So far not seen ! SX 1911 C - 2 + A - Also rare. Not quite so rare as A + 1. SX 1911 D - 2 + B - Over 90% of 1911 sixpences seen or had have been with this obverse & reverse.
