                          2008 Coinage

 

The 2008 Brilliant Uncirculated set, this year, come with a very smart 'Royal Coat of Arms' cover.

The coins included in the set are 2 x £2's - One is to commemorate the centenary of the London Olympic Games from 1908, the other is the normal reverse. 

The  £1 coin design has reverted to the Royal Coat of Arms, reverse.

The 50 to 1 penny are of normal design.

The 2008 proof set contains all of the coins mentioned above in the Uncirculated set, plus 

TWO commemorative £5 coins.

This £2 coin was issued towards the end of 2008 and has not been found in circulation or in any of the sets issued in 2008. The only way to obtain this coin is in the presentation pack.

This coin is a symbol of the handover that took place at the end of the Olympic games is Beijing of the Olympic flag to London for the Games that will take place here in 2012.
