This unusual penny was probably 'date altered' in late Victorian or Edwardian times.
The workmanship is fairly good but on close examination it is possible to see where the 8 has been altered into this 3.
Why 1392 ? - there appears to be nothing memorable about the year. Was it just a case that the person wanted to see what he could do with a bit of careful carving !?
