GR 1840 Ca - Obv. - Extra colon dots added to the F: D: The F: has extra dots just above and below the top colon dot and on the lower colon dot there is an extra strike attached to the bottom left of the colon dot. The D: has an extra dot above and to the left of the top colon dot and an extra dot between the D & the lower colon dot ! Rev. Type A - Strong clear ghosting from die clash with obverse die. Victoria's forehead, eye, nose, mouth and chin are clearly visible. Die crack from edge into the P of PENCE at 1 o'clock and also from the edge at 5 o'clock running into Britannia's toe upwards to Victoria's ghosted chin ! Date: Type c - Pointed top to 4. All of the numerals are double struck. The 40 are entered below the base-line. Grade: Obv. The centre is slightly bright with darkish toning around legend. Rev. Has an all over dark tone. EF?
