1858 Shilling - A slightly unusual coin to categories as it appears to be Davies obverse 2 - same number of border teeth. 13 border teeth between the A's of GRATIA but the I of DEI points to a tooth rather than a gap !? All the other letters line up to border teeth as per obverse 2 ! Obverse 3 & 4 have less border teeth. The 1st A of GRATIA and both A's in BRITANNIAR are unbarred or inverted V's !? A strange variety.
