1859 Sixpences - with minor date variations. It appears that they used several fonts and some even got cross matched. I have found 5 differences with 7 coins - how many more can there be ??  I have only recorded these for information purposes only. I have no idea if any are scarcer than any other !

SX 1859 A - Normal size numerals                         SX 1859 Aa - Normal size numerals !

With numerals widely spaced                                   With all numerals closer together.

   SX 1859 B - Slightly smaller numerals                      SX 1859 C - 1 & 9 normal; 8 & 5 smaller

With numerals widely spaced                                    With numerals widely spaced

SX 1859 D - 1 & 8 small; 5 is larger; 9 is ??

*It is very difficult to tell the normal from the smaller numerals unless one has both to hand. Possible methods of determining !

The 1 of the 'normal' is taller than the 1 of the smaller.

The 8 of the 'normal' is slightly fatter than the 8 of the smaller.

The 5 of the 'normal' is slightly fatter than the 5 of the smaller.

The 5 of the 'normal' appears flat topped on the smaller the end curls up.

The 9 of the 'normal' is slightly fatter than the 9 of the smaller.

The 9 of the 'normal' is closer to the right hand ribbon than the smaller is. (similar distance as the 'Aa' with the numerals close together) !
